This last Sunday was Father’s day. Pastor Quint shared the message giving insight into different fathers in the Bible. He brought many points forth as to how fathers, and guardians can feel as they rear their children. The mistakes they make, and also some of the failures they feel as dads. Many of the fathers in the Bible faced many of the same struggles that many of us do. However, the beauty of it was that these fathers didn’t have to stay paralyzed by their struggles or issues. There was and has always been a grace from God to bring them, and us out of despair into hope and renewal.
Pastor Quint shared a story of his daughter falling off a horse when she was young. To the amazement of those who saw the event Pastor Quint put his daughter back into the saddle. Although it was a fearful moment for her and her onlookers. At the moment he reacted like a good father just like our Father in heaven. When we fall, and when we fail, He picks us up and puts us back into the saddle of redemption. That is exactly what Pastor Quint did. He did not allow the fear of falling to hold his daughter back from achieving greater things. More horse riding and victories were to come. But had he not put her back in the saddle she would have never overcome.
As we journey through life, we too will experience fearful moments, failures, sin, and weakness. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But God who is rich in mercy reaches out to us and lifts us up and puts us into the saddle of His victory. I encourage each of you in your weakness, your failures, and your sin to reach up to God. Talk to Him and allow Him to put you back into the saddle of His Salvation, which leads you into greater victories.
