With all that is going on in our world, I wanted to share some encouragement with you.
Matthew 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
It can be challenging to keep our love level up as we watch our Nation being ravaged and see lives senselessly lost, lack of respect for authority and so much more. We can tend to get angry and bitter ourselves if we are not careful. So how do we keep our love tank filled up?
The Apostle Paul stated in Romans 13:9 You shall love your neighbor as yourself. We can do this by praying for others and reaching out to those around us. We may not be able to help everyone but we can help someone. This helps us to take our focus off the negative situations at hand. Changing what we focus on can be very beneficial to us.
The Bible teaches us that loving others is one of the most important things we can do and it is the thing that the devil wants to squelch in us because he knows how powerful love is.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
1 John 4:12 If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
1 John 4:20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
These are some very powerful scriptures, and I believe if we take them to heart our lives and the lives of those around us will be better for it. I pray this has brought encouragement and some challenge to your life. May the Lord bless you this week and make His face to shine upon you.
