Puppet masters and precipices!
Puppet masters and precipices!
By Doug Cox
Today, I have been mulling over what to write about in our Midweek Manna. I just deleted about 400 words that contained my thoughts about things you probably already know about. If you could be in my office with me, you would see an erase board where I write down subjects that I feel the Lord wants me to pray about and possibly teach or write about. Most of these have been there for a while. These subjects include ‘awakening the conscience’ the answer to a sleepy church. Another is ‘the puppet master’, a look at what controls people. As I look across the board today, two other subjects stand out. One is ‘living at the precipice’ and the other is ‘bathe everything in prayer.’
All four of these subjects seem relevant for today. I mean right now as our lungs breathe in and out. For instance, the puppet master. Who is really in charge of our nation? Is it we the people? We have Senators and Representatives who won’t demand that election fraud be looked into. A large portion of the population believe fraud was committed in the last election, yet these government officials won’t demand that it be looked into. These people are given our trust and are supposed to defend and uphold the Constitution of the United Sates and the rule of law. Meanwhile they quibble about using gender terms such as mother, father, brother and sister. They are supposed to be working for us not playing political games. We have Governors changing election laws, which is unconstitutional and courts refusing to hear cases about fraud while the Supreme Court sits idly by. We have Major News media censoring stories and acting as an arm of the Democrat party, calling the election and calling people who have sworn affidavits about fraud in the election process liars. It’s obvious we the people are not the puppet masters.
Next comes awakening the conscience. Has the church in America been asleep? It’s a tough question but have we gone back and forth from our homes to the church buildings, yet done little to impact the world between the two? By observing what is happening around us it seems so. Now that we are awakened it seems we find ourselves standing at a precarious place in time. We could be ready to go over a precipice from which there could be no return, depending on who wins the Senate seats in Georgia and who takes the office of the President. I know it sounds alarmistic, but the Democrat party has already declared that if they take power and have a super majority, America will never be the same.
This leads me to a bright spot from my dry erase board. Bathe everything in prayer. Through prayer, strength and power are released. Through prayer things can be changed. Please take time over the next 24 hours to pray often and fervently. Let’s express repentance to God for being weak in the past. Let’s pray for the voice of truth to resound in the chambers of Congress and into the ears and hearts of Senate and House members as they come together under Vice President Pence. Pray for more Senators and State Representatives to stand up and demand that there be an investigation into the election fraud and that only true ballots be counted. Pray for an audit of every ballot. This is an easy task, and every true and honest Government leader should demand it for two reasons… One – because they should want to gain the trust of the American people. Two – because mail in ballots can easily be verified as fraudulent or not.
Three things that will inspire urgency in your prayers. One – We should pray because this is about our constitutional freedoms. The right of free speech, the right to assemble and practice worship as we see fit and the right to keep and bear arms. These are just a few of the freedoms that could be lost. Two – We should pray because the future of our children and grandchildren is at stake. Let’s not allow socialism to become their government. Three – This one should be first. We should have urgency in prayer because Jesus said so. Read Luke chapters 11 and 18. He taught that men should always pray and not give up.
Finally, friends, I urge you to fast a meal if you can and use that time to pray. It’s not that fasting changes God but it does bring a spiritual awareness to you. It does bring an edge to your prayers. It does show God you are serious. It does show God you are willing to let Him pull your strings and use you. Will you join me and pray and let God know we are serious about keeping our nation free?
