I Have A King!
I Have A King
By Keith Gifford
There’s been a lot of people saying, “NO KING” lately. I can’t say that because I have one. I have a King by choice. My King is unlike any other king. My King was willing to die for His Kingdom. Any other king would have you die for him. My King refuses to force His subjects to serve Him. Any other king would demand that his subjects serve him. Have you figured out who my King is yet? Yes, it’s Jesus. He’s King of kings and I like to go straight to the top anyway.
You can’t have a King without a kingdom. Where is this Kingdom you might ask? My King said His Kingdom doesn’t come by careful observation. Nor will people say, “here it is or there it is.” His Kingdom is within His subjects, see Luke 17:21. It’s kinda funny. I live in a country that was born from a desire to get away from a king, yet myself and others choose to serve this King gladly. My King also said that if I would put His Kingdom first, His Father would see to it that my needs would be met (Mathew 6:33).
It doesn’t stop there. His Father adopted me into His Family and made me a son. All of the sudden I’M ROYALTY (Ephesians 1:5) Go figure. A torn up old drug addict like me on the brink of suicide.
That’s another great thing about this King. He wanted me to come just as I was. He didn’t ask a bunch of questions. He didn’t make me get it together first. He offered me a new life and I took Him at His Word. That’s another thing, He never lies. He doesn’t know how and I’m not going to teach Him. My whole life outside His Kingdom was one big lie. Nothing but TRUTH in His Kingdom and what blessing that is.
There’s a whole lot more great things that I could say about my King and the many great things in His Kingdom, but it wouldn’t be the same. Experience it for yourself. Make Him your King too. You won’t regret it. Nobody ever has.
