Remember God’s Word in the Christmas Season
Remember God’s Word in the Christmas Season
by Pastor Doug Cox
There is so much going on during the Christmas season. Putting up the lights, the tree, and other decorations. Making candy and bread and presents. Buying presents, wrapping presents, sending cards or Instagram, or PMs. Cleaning the house, preparing meals, going to parties. Trying to find the dead light in a string of dead lights. Going to the store to get new lights. Stringing up the new lights. Making more candy. Cleaning the house again. It seems to never end until it’s over on Christmas morning after the presents are opened and it’s time clean the house again. The question is, can you go too far doing all this stuff? The answer is yes. If you are not spending some time in the Word of God every day. You going too far.
The Apostle John writes, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. … But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1-5,12,14)
Prayer.
Dear Jesus, true and living Word of God. You have done so much for me. Please give Me a hunger for Your word during this time I celebrate Your birthday.
