Time For An Invitation
by Rebekah Harvey
This past Sunday Pastor Doug shared a great message about having courage to defend your biblical worldview. One point that he brought out was that there are seasons for things. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.”
There were several things that he said it is time for. As believers in the Lord Jesus it is time for us to plant the seeds of truth so that there can be a harvest of souls. What greater joy is there than being able to be part of another person’s journey to find that Jesus is the answer and in Him is salvation.
Another point was that we are to embrace God’s way of thinking, now more than ever before. A very important reason for this is so that we are not deceived, in Matthew 24:4 Jesus is speaking and says, “Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.” After this He warns of false messiahs leading people astray, and wars breaking out. We need to pay attention to His warning because each of us is capable of being deceived.
We are living in exciting times if we know what the Bible says, it is exciting to think we may be the generation that will see the return of our Lord Jesus. With that in mind let us be planting seeds for the harvest of souls in God’s kingdom. Let us embrace God’s way of thinking, invite Him to lead you in your thoughts and give you discernment in the situations you encounter.
It is time for us to rise up, to stand up for Christ, to share our testimony in love and invite people to join you in this journey. An invitation unanswered or rejected is better than an invitation undelivered. Who will you invite this week?
