Standing Strong in Difficult Times

Recently, my husband and I were talking about the price of gas, diesel, and food. Those three topics stress most of us out. Have you heard the expression “I never thought I’d see the day,” but here we are.

Sometimes in life, we find ourselves in circumstances we never expected, facing battles we never imagined, and asking questions we never thought we would have to ask. But even when life seems out of control, we need to remember God has not changed. These are the times that we need to remind ourselves of who God is.

The Bible teaches that God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1) I really like this verse because it tells me I will face trouble, yet when I do, He is my refuge and strength. He is my present help in trouble.  A refuge is a safe place, shelter, or protection from danger, trouble, or distress.

When life becomes overwhelming, and the storms begin to rise, God is the place we can run to. We don’t have to face trouble alone or allow fear to overtake us. We can find safety in His presence, strength in His power, and peace in knowing that He is with us-even in the midst of the storm. And sometimes, if we are honest, we don’t need another opinion; we need to remember who our refuge is and run to Him.
